Glyphicons are a new set of 270 simple icons, great for use on web or mobile. The license is a tad restrictive (you must always include a link to the site), but the symbols definitely have a sweet style to them and look like they render well at small sizes. It’s $25 for the whole set (including 2x iOS icons) and $49 with the source vector files.
50 and 50 is a collective, curated project where fifty designers are invited to represent their state by illustrating its motto. a new piece will be posted every week day.
Though they’re created by different designers, the illustrations all use a consistent color scheme and style, and are an absolute pleasure to browse.
From Kyle Tezak’s Four Icon Challenge:
That’s what so great about icons, they’re tiny poems. I decided it would be a fun project to attempt to sum up some of my favorite books, movies, historical events, anything, with just four icons.

Alex Fuller’s ideal live/work space:
My ideal live/work situation is based on community, shared spaces and a distinct separation between home and work. In this campus, one building is devoted to homes and one building is devoted to businesses both retail and office. Both buildings have shared roof decks and backyards to encourage gatherings. The idea is to rent both apartments and work spaces to people as a package. And ideally these are independent businesses that foster local communities.
This is You is a beautiful recruitment piece from Herman Miller with some excellent illustration and motion design.
Thanks to Sleepover for my avatar sketch — might just use it in a new site design. Get your own!
Jessica Hische shows off her design students’ magnificent work.
Illustrator Michael Blaine Myers Jr. has created a fantastic set of concepts for a hypothetical LOST animated series.
