The iPad 2 has landed. The second version features the new A5 processor, providing up to 9x faster graphics and a 2x faster, dual-core processor. Fortunately, the device has retained exactly the same battery life. Feature-wise, some of the most notable announcements include:

  • A new design which is 33% thinner. Thinner than your iPhone 4
  • Two cameras, front-facing (for the new Facetime and Photobooth apps) and rear-facing (for HD video capture and the new iMovie app)
  • “Smart Covers” which come in an array of colors and grip onto the iPad using magnets, and automatically put the iPad to sleep when applied, and wake it up when removed. Smart covers also automatically convert to stands for both portrait and landscape use.
  • The Nitro JS engine is now in the new 4.3 Safari, fantastic news for web app developers

  6. chrispytwist answered: 3G, I’ve had clients buy a Wi-fi then kick themselves after. Def worth it to have connectivity anywhere

  10. greenrootsdesign answered: Thats no question… 3g all the way… it would be good if apple offered trade in on crappy 6 month old first gen iPads :)
